ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH GAHANNA-JEFFERSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS (GJPS) FOR THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER (SRO) FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

WHEREAS, the school district has agreed to pay 50% of the costs associated with one officer providing SRO services to Gahanna-Lincoln High School and 75% of the cost for a second GLHS-based SRO; and
WHEREAS, the amount for the 2020-2021 school year which will be billed to the district is $195,796.21 (billed monthly);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into the School Resource Officer contract with Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools 140 S. Hamilton Road, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, for the 2020-2021 school year; said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
