TO EXTEND THE ONGOING ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR OF STATE, LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES DIVISION, FOR THE GAAP CONVERSION; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, an ongoing annual contract was approved by ORD-0130-2003 for our GAAP Conversion program; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has been notified that an amendment to the agreement is necessary to allow for an additional 32 hours that was above and beyond the original engagement; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this amendment immediately in order to meet the August 19 deadline set by the Local Government Services Division and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended agreement with the OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR OF STATE, LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES DIVISION, for additional hours for the 2007 GAAP conversion; said amendment attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY FOUR DOLLARS ($1,184) is available in the 2008 appropriations in Account No. 101.130.5293, Audit Expenses, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
