TO PAY $5,362 TO THOM AND KIM WILLIS, 224 ROCKY FORK DRIVE SOUTH, AS A MORAL OBLIGATION AS A RESULT OF A MAIN LINE SEWER BACK UP; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $5,362 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it is deemed an obligation under the pending circumstances to pay the WIllis family for recent sewer backup damage; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed a moral obligation by this Council that they be reimbursed for damages incurred; and
WHEREAS, reimbursement for damages needs to be made in a timely fashion in order to allow for replacement of damaged items, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. The payment of $5,362 is hereby authorized as a moral obligation by this Council to Thom and Kim Willis, 224 Rocky Fork Drive South, Gahanna, Ohio.
Section 2. That the amount of FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY TWO DOLLARS ($5,362) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the sewer fund to Account No. 661.360.5418, Sewer Back Up and Repair, for reimbursement of sewer back up at 224 Rocky Fork Drive South.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
