TO AMEND ORD-0046-2001 IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE RATES OF PAY FOR SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 2, 2002; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, ORD-0046-2001, passed March 19, 2001, and as amended, provided the salary and benefit package for the supervisory personnel of the City of Gahanna through December 31, 2001; and

 

WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate by this Council for employee morale and continuity of City business to proceed with new legislation for salary provisions to be effective January 2, 2002, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That where not in conflict with the Charter, Ordinances, or lawfully promulgated rules and regulations of the City of Gahanna, the Master Salary Ordinance for full-time supervisory personnel of the City of Gahanna, is hereby amended as noted in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.

 

Section 2.  That the salaries attached in EXHIBIT A of this ordinance shall be effective January 2, 2002, except as otherwise noted.

 

Section 3.  That all other provisions of ORD-0046-2001 shall remain in effect until superseded by further action of Council.

 

Section 4. That it is the intent of this Council and Administration to review ORD-0046-2001 and this ordinance in their entirety after completion of labor negotiations.

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
