TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH KUSTOM SIGNALS, INC., FOR PURCHASE OF DIGITAL EYEWITNESS IN CAR VIDEO SYSTEMS FOR 12 POLICE CRUISERS.

WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that there is a need for eyewitness in car video systems in each police cruiser; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended that we proceed to purchase with Kustom Signals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Kustom Signals, Inc., 9325 Pflumm, Lenexa, Kansas 66215, for purchase of 12 digital eyewitness in car video systems at the unit cost of $5,584, which includes accessories, and in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN DOLLARS ($27,917) was set aside in Account No. 101.211.5512, Police Capital Equipment, and THIRTY NINE THOUSAND EIGHTY THREE DOLLARS ($39,083) was set aside in Account No. 236.211.5512, Law Enforcement Grant Capital, for a total of $67,000, in the 2003 Appropriations, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
