TO AMEND CHAPTER 505, ANIMALS AND FOWL, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES REGARDING FEES FOR IMPOUNDING AND DISPOSITION OF ANIMALS; PROCEDURES REGARDING ANIMAL BITES, QUARANTINE AND REPORT

WHEREAS, the Mayor desires to more carefully monitor animals in the City in order to have control and to assist in returning to owners when lost; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council and Administration to increase costs for impounding and disposition of animals since present charges are based on 1981 procedures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Chapter 505, Animals and Fowls, of the Codified Ordinances of Gahanna, Ohio, is hereby amended to effect changes to Section 505.02, Impounding and Disposition, Section 505.10, Animal Bites, Quarantine, and Report; and Section 505.14, Dangerous and Vicious Animals; as such changes are stated and clarified in EXHIBIT A, attached to this ordinance and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Section 505.02, Impounding and Disposition; Section 505.10, Animal Bites, Quarantine, and Report; and Section 505.14, Dangerous and Vicious Dogs; are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
