TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBUS, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISION OF POLICE TO SIGN A MUTUAL AID COMPACT.

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Columbus and the City of Gahanna to provide for their citizens more efficient police services; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of these political subdivisions to provide for mutual assistance by the inter-change and use of their police department personnel and equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City has had ongoing mutual aid with the City of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, it is now time to formalize the agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with the City of Columbus for mutual aid, said Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
