TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO EXTENDED CONTRACT WITH MS CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM MODELING, INVENTORY AND MANAGEMENT; TO INCREASE SCOPE TO ADD MORE MAPPING ELEMENTS TO THE PROJECT; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $5,810; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City contracted with MS Consultants for engineering services for Water Distribution System modeling, inventory and management by ORD-0127-2002; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed to extend the scope of the project to include further mapping elements; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into extended contract with MS Consultants, Inc., 2221 Schrock Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229, for engineering services for Water Distribution System Modeling, Inventory and Management, to increase the scope to add more mapping elements, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY EIGHT HUNDRED TEN DOLLARS ($5,810) is hereby appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the W.S.C.I. Fund, to Account No. 652.351.5596, Miscellaneous Water Improvement, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0002-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council, and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
