TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH WAYNE BUILDERS CO., LTD., TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL $20,212 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

Body

 

WHEREAS, it has been determined and recommended by the Administration that the rest rooms at Friendship Park and Woodside Green Park need to be repaired and improved for both public safety and health, along with handicap and for proper maintenance; and

 

WHEREAS, the quotation for this work exceeds the amount set aside in the 1998 Appropriations; and

 

WHEREAS, it is appropriate to expedite this work at the earliest possible date in order to have the rest rooms in full compliance and working order by the spring season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with WAYNE BUILDERS CO., LTD., 926 East Broad Street, Suite 101, Columbus, Ohio 43205-1157, for the purpose of repairing and upgrading rest rooms at Friendship Park and Woodside Green Park in accordance with proposal and design submitted December 15, 1997.

 

Section 2.  That the amount of  TWENTY THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWELVE DOLLARS ($20,212) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of The General Fund to Account No. 101.431.5515, Capital Projects, Parks and Recreation, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove,  this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
