TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES FOR DESIGN OF SIGNAL AT HAMILTON AND BEECHER ROADS; TO APPROPRIATE $7,785 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received under date of July for construction plans for the U.S. Route No. 62/Beecher Road Signal Improvement, and has been recommended to this Council by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, this intersection is an integral part of the growth and development of the north triangle and for the orderly flow of traffic in that area, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., 130 East Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 025, Worthington, Ohio 43085, in accordance with letter Scope of Services and in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($7,785) is hereby supplementally appropriated from The General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
