TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH VALOR CONTRACTING, LLC FOR THE GOLF COURSE FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT PV 376; AND TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $29,546; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the project will replace two 550 gallon underground fuel storage tanks at the Golf Course with two above ground 500 gallon fuel tanks in accordance to all applicable local, state, and federal requirements; and
WHEREAS, Valor Contracting was the only bidder with a bid of $106,860; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer is requesting a ten percent contingency to cover any unforeseen construction costs which will bring the total project cost to $117,546; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation is needed in the amount of $29,546 to cover the expenses of the project; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward as soon as possible to begin construction before the start of winter, and all for the preservation of the peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Valor Contracting, LLC, 201 East Andrus Road, Northwood, Ohio 43619, for the golf course fuel tank replacement PV 376; said contract attached to this Ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY NINE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX DOLLARS ($29,546) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.512.5515, General Fund/Fleet Maintenance/Equipment Replacement Fund, to further cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0163-2014, passed December 15, 2014, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
