WHEREAS, the Police Department has received proposal for a Crisis/Hostage Negotiating Telephone/Video System and Chief Murphy is recommending that we proceed with purchase from Professional Safety, Inc., a division of Enforcement Technology Group Inc;

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this immediately, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with Professional Safety Inc., 400 North Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202, for the purchase of a Crisis/Hostage Negotiating Telephone/Video System, in accordance with proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and in accordance with all City Specifications.

 

Section 2.  That the amount of FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4,000) has already been appropriated to Account No. 225.211.5411, Law Enforcement Trust Fund, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That the amount of TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered Balance of Account No. 225.211.5411, Law Enforcement Trust Fund, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 4.  That ORD-0001-2000 passed January 3, 2000 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 5.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
