TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE GAHANNA COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION (CIC) FOR THE YEAR 2015.

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has enacted Code Section 165.02, to authorize a lodging tax for the purpose of expending five percent (5%) of the six percent (6%) of the collected lodging tax for the purpose of encouraging and promoting tourism and visitors to the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the CIC has relinquished its oversight authority over the Convention and Visitors Bureau and has adopted a strategic plan that focuses upon industrial, economic, civic, commercial, distribution and research development in the city; and
WHEREAS, this agreement covers the use of the lodging tax, as reflected in the 2015 appropriations and specifies how the CIC will expend the lodging tax monies to encourage tourism and assist with economic development initiatives for the City of Gahanna;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with the Community Improvement Corporation; said Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY-ONE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($41,900) will be set aside in 2015 appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
