TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH D AND SIX SONS PAINTING, LLC, FOR THE WATER TOWER REHABILITATION PROJECT
BODY
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering seeks to rehabilitate and paint the City’s 1.0-million-gallon elevated water storage tank located in the Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve Park; and
WHEREAS, the rehabilitation project consists of abrasive blast cleaning, exterior and interior recoating, and miscellaneous hatch, pipe, handrail, roof vent, and ladder repairs and/or replacements; and
WHEREAS, on December 20, 2023, construction bids were opened and reviewed, and in total, two bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, D and Six Sons Painting, LLC, had a complete and responsive bid, of which the administration recommends award of the construction project; and
WHEREAS, the total project is $1,069,970, including the 10 percent contingency to cover any unforeseen circumstances; and
WHEREAS, funding for the project has been previously appropriated by Council to cover the rehabilitation project costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor and Director of Engineering are hereby authorized to award and enter into contract with D AND SIX SONS PAINTING, LLC, primary offices located at 3510 N M-52, STOCKBRIDGE, MI 49285 for the Water Tower Rehabilitation Project (ST-1106), attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
