TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE WITH WALNUT CREEK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 600 WEST JOHNSTOWN ROAD, TO ALLOW AN OFF-PREMISE SIGN TO BE ERECTED ON CITY PROPERTY.

WHEREAS the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church representatives tried to secure privately owned land to construct a new sign because the church is obscured from sight and difficult to find from Johnstown Road; and
WHEREAS, they were unable to secure land and the Development Department staff and the City Engineer worked with the church to determine the best location of a sign on City right-of-way as to not block any line of sight; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission approved the necessary variance to allow the signage on City land, and the City Attorney has reviewed the proposed lease and has given his approval; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to execute this lease;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Lease Agreement with WALNUT CREEK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 600 West Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, to allow an off-premise sign to be erected on City property; Lease attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
