TO HONOR AND COMMEND NATIONAL COALITION OF 100 BLACK WOMEN CENTRAL OHIO CHAPTER

WHEREAS, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women is an advocacy organization built to empower African American women through greater access to education, political strength, business opportunities and civic responsibility; and

 

WHEREAS, the Coalition is committed to seeking solutions to critical issues in our community, and offers programs and services to enhance the self-sufficiency of African American women in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment; and

 

WHEREAS, the Coalition's programs and events are designed to foster principles of equal rights and opportunities; increase awareness of the African American culture; develop member potential for more effective leadership; take action on specific issues of local and national importance; and build alliances with others who have shared objectives; and 

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna Council is honored to support the National Coalition of 100 Black Women on the chartering of a Central Ohio Chapter on September 8, 2011;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That this Council hereby recognizes and commends the National Coalition of 100 Black Women and wishes them great success in the Central Ohio area.

 

Section 2.  That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
