TITLE

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORD-0091-2021 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND ADOPT THE PAY ADMINISTRATION POLICY, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2022, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

BODY

 

WHEREAS, the Pay Administration Policy is the formal system for classifying positions and compensating non-union employees in the City; and

 

WHEREAS, as part of the compensation study performed by the City’s consultant, the Pay Administration Policy was reviewed and edited for implementing a step wage scale; and

 

WHEREAS, to align the updated policy with the amended Salary Ordinance, retain staff and competitively recruit qualified candidates for vacant positions essential to the City’s programs and services, the Mayor recommends that the legislation be passed as an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of public peace, safety, health, and welfare of the City.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and adopt the amended Pay Administration Policy, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble, this Ordinance is declared an emergency and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
