TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH TAYLOR CHEVROLET, FOR PURCHASE OF A 2006 CHEVROLET PICK UP 4 X 4 TRUCK; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is in need of a 4 x 4 pick up truck for the Parks Department; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to proceed to purchase said truck off the State contract from Taylor Chevrolet; and
WHEREAS, it imperative to proceed with this purchase all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into purchase agreement with TAYLOR CHEVROLET, 2510 North Memorial Drive, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, from State contract #RS904606, for the purchase of a 4 x 4 pick up truck; in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($20,800) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.431.5515, Capital Equipment, Parks, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
