TO REESTABLISH COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF PLANNING COMMISSION BEGINNING JANUARY 2, 2002; TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 8-97; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS,  it is deemed appropriate to increase the current compensation of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars per month for Planning Commission due to increased work load over the last several years; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to provide said compensation in a timely fashion for year end transition, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That effective January 2, 2002, the seven members appointed to the Planning Commission shall each receive compensation in the amount of THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300) per month, payable the second pay period of each month.

 

Section 2.  That Ord. 8-97, passed January 2, 1997, or any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, shall be repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this legislation shall be deemed emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
