AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH VORTEX FOR THE EQUIPMENT PURCHASE OF A SPLASH PAD AT GAHANNA SWIMMING POOL.

WHEREAS, the addition of the splash pad at Gahanna Swimming Pool will provide a much-needed improvement to the amenities available to the community; and
WHEREAS, splash pads provide an updated and interactive way for children and families to experience water play; and
WHEREAS, the features of the splash pad will allow movement and encourage imaginative play appropriate for a wide range of children of all abilities; and
WHEREAS, the addition of the splash pad was included in the approved budget for year 2021.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Vortex, 7800 Trans Canada, Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada, H9R 1C6, for the purchase of a splash pad at Gahanna Swimming Pool.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) was set aside in 2021 appropriation, in account number 32506550.5505- Capital Projects, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
