TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT FOR THE SALE OF A 0.548 ACRE PARCEL OF CITY OWNED LAND ON LANDRUM COURT IN THE INDUSTRIAL ZONE

WHEREAS, Emerald Light Investments, Ltd. has submitted a proposal to the City for the purchase of a 0.548 acre parcel on Landrum Court in The Industrial Zone; and
WHEREAS, James E. Grote and Annie Upper are the owners of Emerald Light Investments, Ltd. and they are looking to purchase this parcel in connection with the headquarters of Donatos Pizzeria and the J.E. Grote Company which are located within close proximity to the parcel; and
WHEREAS, Emerald Light Investments, Ltd. have made a monetary proposal of $80,000 which is based on an appraisal done on May 23, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the City has no particular need for this property and there is a specific benefit to the purchaser to be able to expand his business; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 148.08, Transfer of City Interests in Realty Without Competitive Bidding, of the Codified Ordinances of Gahanna, this property shall be used in accordance with an urban renewal plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement to sell property owned by the City of Gahanna known as Parcel 025-006161 and located on Landrum Court; said contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
