TITLE

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVISED ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION FEES PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 949 OF THE GAHANNA CODIFIED ORDINANCES

BODY

 

WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 949 of the Gahanna Codified Ordinances, the Director of Public Service sets, and Council approves, the rates for Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations within the City of Gahanna; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna provides two types of EV charging stations: Level 2 (L2) Stations located at City Hall, Friendship Park, Hannah Park, and the Municipal Golf Course, and DC Fast Charger (DCFC) stations located in the Creekside Parking Garage and the Municipal Parking Lot; and

 

WHEREAS, in May 2025, Council adopted fees for L2 and DCFC stations to support the operation and maintenance of the City’s EV charging infrastructure; and

 

WHEREAS, to align with known increases in the City’s supplier costs and to ensure continued cost recovery and reliable service, updated rates are recommended for implementation beginning December 8, 2025; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO, THAT:

 

Section 1. The following Electric Vehicle Charging Station fees are hereby adopted, effective December 8, 2025:

Level 2 (L2) Stations: $0.30 per kWh.

DC Fast Charger (DCFC) Stations: $0.40 per kWh.

Idle Fees: Removed.

 

Section 2. These fees shall remain in effect until amended or repealed by further action of this Council.

 

Section 3. This resolution supersedes any prior resolution establishing Electric Vehicle Charging Station fees and shall be in full force and effect upon passage by Council and signature of approval by the Mayor.
