TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO REAL ESTATE PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH THE JEFFERSON LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT RECREATION COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 148 PARKLAND DRIVE; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $645,000 THEREFOR

WHEREAS, the administration has been approached by the Jefferson Local School District Recreation Council to enter into a purchase contract for real estate, property, buildings, and contents located at 148 Parkland Drive, known as the Gahanna Swim Club; and
WHEREAS, at this time the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Parks and Recreation Board support this property purchase;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Real Estate Purchase Agreement with The Jefferson Local School District Recreation Council, 148 Parkland Drive, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for the purchase of real property located at 148 Parkland Drive, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That SIX HUNDRED FORTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($645,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.431.5596, Parks, Capital Projects/Improvements.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect these supplemental appropriations.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature approval by the Mayor.
