WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has funds available for Brownfields Assessment and Cleanup as part of the Brownfields Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has made a commitment to submit an application to the US EPA Brownfields Grant Program to aid in funding Brownfields Assessment and Cleanup to benefit the residents in the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has a critical need for such improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is eligible to apply towards the total project cost to benefit its citizens and environment; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to apply for a $1,000,000 Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Grant for cleanup of environmentally compromised sites across Gahanna;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for US EPA Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Grant.
Section 2. That the City of Gahanna Council strongly supports the filing of US EPA Brownfields Grants for Assessment and Cleanup to aid in funding of the Gahanna Brownfields Projects.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
