TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE HERB SOCIETY OF AMERICA GRANT FOR EDUCATORS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500.

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation is requesting authorization to apply for grant funds for the Herb Society of America Grant for Educators in the amount of $2,500; and
WHEREAS, the grant is for the creation of a one day youth education seminar, including hands-on experience with herbs, such as field identification and culinary, craft, and gardening applications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to sign and submit the Herb Society of America Grant for Educators grant application for the purpose of the creation of a one day youth education seminar, including hands-on experience with herbs, such as field identification and culinary, craft, and gardening applications.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute all documents required by law, policies and agreements in making such application and, if the City is selected as a grant recipient, accepting the grant funds.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and after approval by the Mayor.
