WHEREAS, RES-0023-2007 authorized the City to apply for a $1,000,000 Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Grant for cleanup of environmentally compromised sites; and

 

WHEREAS, that grant has been awarded and now needs to be accepted; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to accommodate the Department of Development in the dispersal of these funds upon receipt, it has been requested that a supplemental appropriation be done at this time in anticipation of receipt of the funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the funds will not actually be appropriated until the funds are received;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:

 

Section 1.  That the $1,000,000 Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Grant is hereby accepted and the Mayor is authorized to sign any and all papers necessary for the administration of this grant.

 

Section 2.  That upon receipt of the $1,000,000 deposited into the General Fund, said funds will be supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.343.5547.1, Development, Brownfields Remediation.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation if funds are received this year.

 

Section 4.  That for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance shall be declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect upon passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
