WHEREAS, ORD-261-2000 authorized the Mayor to enter into contract with Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc., for a portion of the design of improvements for a roadway across the Buckles property, Improvement No. 762, and said ordinance must be amended to reflect the 2001 authorized expenditure for the project; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the continued design work to help alleviate the traffic flow problem in the area, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amended Contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, for design improvement in conjunction with the extension of TechCenter Drive, Improvement No. 762.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED SIXTY THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($163,000) was set aside in the 2001 Appropriations in Account No. 325.122.5548, Industrial Zone Traffic Alternative, Engineering.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
