WHEREAS, the City Attorney after review of the functions of the office has deemed it in the best interest of the City to contract to provide legal services for Planning Commission; and
 
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Attorney to enter into a Personal Services Contract with Thomas L. Weber for the period beginning March 14, 2012 and ending December 31, 2013; and
 
WHEREAS, Planning Commission is a necessary function of our City government, and it is deemed appropriate to proceed to effect continuity in said services for Planning Commission, and all for the public peace, property, health safety and welfare;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Personal Services Contract with Thomas L. Weber for legal services for Planning Commission and other services that may be needed by the City Attorney, said contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($6,250) was set aside in the 2012 appropriations and sufficient funds will be set aside in the 2013 appropriations to Account 101.181.5115, City Attorney, Contract Labor, to cover the herein costs.
 
Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and immediately after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
