TO ZONE 1.3 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, AS SO, SUBURBAN OFFICE; FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 664-686 BROOK HOLLOW; SELECT PROPERTIES APPLICANT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, rezoning to SO, Suburban Office, is being requested by Select Properties for 1.3 acres, more or less, for property located at 664-686 Brook Hollow; and
WHEREAS, Planning Commission held public hearing, said hearing held pursuant to notice and according to law and, as a result of such hearing and deliberations, on January 14, 1998 Planning Commission recommended this application for zoning; and
WHEREAS, Council held Public Hearing on March 2, 1998, pursuant to notice and according to law;
WHEREAS, the need for this company to relocate to new quarters at the earliest possible date is recognized by this Council, and with the approach of the prime building season, it is deemed appropriate and necessary to proceed with this zoning at the earliest possible date for orderly development of this area and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Official Zoning Map, adopted by Ordinance No. 198-96 on November 19, 1996, as amended, is hereby amended by zoning 1.3 acres, more or less, to SO, Suburban Office, said acreage more particularly described in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.
Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to amend and recertify the Official Zoning Map of the City of Gahanna, Ohio, to reflect the zoning contained in and approved by this ordinance.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
