TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH MYERS SCHMALENBERGER FOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE WEST GAHANNA GATEWAY LANDSCAPE PROJECT, PHASE II; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it is necessary  to proceed with Phase II of the West Gahanna Gateway Landscape Project which builds the raised median landscaping on Route 62 from Stygler to Olde Ridenour Road; and

 

WHEREAS, proposal has been received and been recommended by the City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to have the plans completed and in place by the time of the spring planting season, it is imperative to move forward now with the scope of the work outlined in the proposal, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with Myers Schmalenberger for Landscape Architectural Services for the West Gahanna Gateway Landscape Project, Phase II, in accordance with Services Proposal submitted under date of October 23, 2000, and in accordance with City specifications, said Services Proposal Summary attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That Twenty Nine Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Five Dollars ($29,375) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered funds in the General Fund to Account Number 101.343.5511, Capital Projects Development.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2000, passed January 3, 2000, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance shall be deemed emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and upon date of signature approval by the Mayor.
