TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE EAST INDUSTRIAL SANITARY SEWER AND SOUTHEAST SUBTRUNK EXTENSION; IMPROVEMENT NO. 727; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $23,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, bids were opened for the East Industrial Sanitary Sewer and Southeast Subtrunk Extension, Improvement No. 727 on February 23, 2001 pursuant to Council authorization, and Council is proceeding with the awarding of the contract; and
WHEREAS, inspection services are needed in conjunction with the awarding of the contract; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the project, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, for inspection services for the construction of the East Industrial Sanitary Sewer and Southeast Subtrunk Extension, Improvement No. 727, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($23,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the SSCI Fund, to Account No. 662.361.5821, Capital Projects, Sewer TIF, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-1-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
