SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - Police Duty Weapon Fund

WHEREAS, the Division of Police is in need of additional patrol rifles to be deployed to officers within the Division; and
WHEREAS, due to recent events the number of patrol rifle requests has quadrupled from that of previous years; and
WHEREAS, all funds expended will be returned to the City through a system of payroll deductions by the officers requesting the weapons from the fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of THIRTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS ($13,520) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund, to Account No. 515.211.5437, Police Duty Weapon Fund.
Section 2. That ORD-0001-2013, passed January 2, 2013, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
