APPOINTING NEW TRUSTEES TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF GAHANNA COMMUNITY URBAN REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (CURC); AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS,the Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CURC) was established by Ordinance No. 3-88 and has been amended several times to appoint members as terms have expired; and
WHEREAS, a term has expired in the membership of the Board of Trustees of the Gahanna Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation, and it is desirable to make a new appointment immediately in order that the work of this Corporation may continue in an orderly manner; and
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the membership of the Board of Trustees of the Gahanna Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation, and it is desirable to make a new appointment immediately in order that the work of this Corporation may continue in an orderly manner; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists since the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare in the City requires the approvals and determinations by such trustees in accordance with the provisions of said Corporation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Richard Peck is hereby appointed by Council as a trustee of the Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation for a three year term expiring December 31, 2010.
Section 2. That Beryl D. Anderson is hereby appointed by Council as a trustee of the Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation for the balance of the unexpired term expiring December 31, 2009.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
