TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN ROCK SALT CO., FOR ROCK SALT FOR THE 2002-2003 SEASON.

WHEREAS, Southwest Ohio Purchasers for Government (SWOP4G) opened bids for rock salt on August 20, 2002, and the City is a member in good standing; and
WHEREAS, through the SWOP4G, the City can purchase rock salt, pursuant to Council authorization, and the best, responsible, and responsive bidder has been recommended by the Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this purchase at the earliest possible date;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award, and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract for rock salt for the 2002-2003 season with American Rock Salt Company, P.O. Box 190, Mt. Morris, New York 14510, in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That funding was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 220.330.5321, Street Material, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
