TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STILSON CONSULTING GROUP FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE TAYLOR STATION ROAD/CLAYCRAFT ROAD INTERSECTION; TO TRANSFER FUNDS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, increasing industrial development is causing traffic problems at the Taylor Station/Claycraft intersection, and left turn lanes are warranted and in the near future a signal will be required; and

 

WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received for engineering services for the intersection from Stilson Consulting Group and the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date due to the current construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  The the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 7610 Olentangy River Road, Columbus Ohio 43235, for engineering services for the Taylor Station/Claycraft intersection.

 

Section 2.  That FIFTY SIX THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS was appropriated to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets in the 2001 Appropriations and is transferred to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-1-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this transfer of funds.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and signature approval by the Mayor.
