TITLE

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES FOR PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2026, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2026; WAIVING SECOND READING AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

BODY

 

WHEREAS, the Administration has proposed adjustments to the salaries for non-union personnel to include modifications to position titles and pay grades to align with the 2026 proposed budget; and

 

WHEREAS, additional modifications include general text cleanup and a wage increase of 4% for those over the mid-point of the pay grade for annual wage increases; and

 

WHEREAS, the Administration recommends passage of the Ordinance as an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of public peace, safety, health, and welfare of the City to have salaries in place for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2026.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That where not in conflict with the Charter, Ordinances, or lawfully promulgated rules and regulations of the City of Gahanna, the 2026 Salary Ordinance for personnel of the City of Gahanna is hereby enacted as noted in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That the salaries for the personnel of the City of Gahanna shall not be effective until January 1, 2026.

 

Section 3. That any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 

Section 4. The second reading is hereby waived.

 

Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this Ordinance is declared an emergency measure which shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
