TO AMEND CHAPTER 943, SANITARY REGULATIONS, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA REGARDING DISPOSITION OF SANITARY SEWAGE AND THE MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF GREASE TRAPS.

WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City that grease traps and/or interceptors installed to accommodate Gahanna food service establishments are not being properly cleaned and maintained; and
WHEREAS, Franklin County Board of Health does inspect our food service facilities, but most grease traps are outside the food establishments, and are not being inspected; and
WHEREAS, it is a necessity to establish a procedure to allow the Service Department to initiate action to properly inspect cleaning and disposal of grease removed from grease traps;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Chapter 943, Sanitary Regulations, is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Chapter 943, Sanitary Regulations, or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
