WHEREAS, currently the City is out of contract for the maintenance and service of our phone system and DS1; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Technology has recommended that we proceed with AT&T by renewing our contract with them; and

 

WHEREAS, the contract service for phone is for a 3 year period, and the contract for DS1 is for 12 months only; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance as soon as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with AT&T, SBC GLOBAL SERVICES, INC., 225 W. Randolph Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60606, to renew service contract for the City phone system and DS1 service, and to add an additional DS1 line for network connectivity to the Hunter's Ridge pool; Contracts attached as EXHIBIT A, B, C, and D, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.   That the contract service for phone is for a 3 year period, and the contract for DS1 is for 12 months only.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
