TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE GAHANNA CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU FOR THE 2010 CALENDAR YEAR FOR THE PROMOTION AND PUBLICITY OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into contract with the Gahanna Convention and Visitors Bureau for promotion and publicity of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this Agreement as soon as possible since services began the first day of January 2010, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement between the Gahanna Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of Gahanna for promotion and publicity of the City of Gahanna; Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWO HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($260,000) was set aside in the 2010 Appropriations to Account No. 101.356.5456, CVB, Operational Expenses, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
