WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received and has been recommended by the Director of Public Service and the City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, ORD-0220-2000 awarded a contract to Shaw & Hotler, Inc. for construction of this project; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this inspection services contract at the earliest possible date in order that construction work on this important industrial project meets all specifications required; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with EVANS MECHWART HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, OH 43230, for Inspection Services for the Morse Road Culvert, Improvement No. 759, in accordance with letter proposal, dated May 31, 2000, and City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($14,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the general fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
