AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH FISHBECK FOR PHASE ONE OF THE CREEKSIDE FLOOD IMPACT MITIGATION PROJECT.

BODY

WHEREAS, the focus of the Creekside flood impact and mitigation project is to improve flood protection measures at Creekside Development to meet National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) standards; and

WHEREAS, Phase One of the contract will include investigation and planning efforts to guide the design and construction of potential improvements to the below-grade structure and plaza; and

WHEREAS, DLZ Ohio, Inc. evaluated the Creekside Development’s flood protection measures in 2020 and identified several deficiencies that need to be addressed in order for the facilities to meet NFIP standards.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with Fishbeck, 1515 Arboretum Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546, for professional services for the Creekside Garage Flood Impact Mitigation Project, said Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2. That funding in the amount of two hundred eighty-four thousand three hundred eighty dollars and zero cents ($284,380.00) has already been appropriated and is available to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
