TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GAHANNA AND CHARLES W. HENDERSON FOR GAHANNA ANIMAL CONTROL; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $3,000 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Administration that it is desirable to continue to handle animal control in the City with Charles W. Henderson; and
WHEREAS, the existing contract with Charles W. Henderson expired on December 31, 2000; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide continuity for animal control for the citizens, it is prudent to expedite this contract at the earliest possible date for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into "Personal Services Contract between the City of Gahanna, Ohio, and CHARLES W. HENDERSON, 84 Goings S.W., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068, said contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of $31,608 is available in the 2001 Appropriations in Account No. 101.213.5441, A & I Control Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the general fund to Account No. 101.213.5441, A&I Control Services, to cover the balance of this contract cost.
Section 4. That ORD-0001-2001 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
