TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, FOR PHASE II DESIGN OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS; STYGLER ROAD FROM US 62 TO MCCUTCHEON ROAD; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Assistant City Engineer has received cost proposal for design work for traffic signal improvements, Stygler Road from US 62 to McCutcheon Road, and recommends that we proceed; and
WHEREAS, this ties into another project which has a time limit and work needs to begin immediately, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with EVANS, MECHWART HAMBLETON & TILTON, 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 for the design proposal of traffic signalization improvements, Stygler Road from US 62 to McCutcheon, including fiber, conduit,traffic signal interconnect and mast arm design; said proposal attached as "EXHIBIT A".
Section 2. That TWENTY TWO THOUSAND ($22,000) Dollars was set aside in the 2000 Appropriations, in Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects Engineering, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
