TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH METRO TELECOM FOR PURCHASE OF 13 LAPTOP COMPUTERS FOR USE IN POLICE CRUISERS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, bids were received for 13 laptop computers for the Police Department on February 25, 2000, and the Director of Network Administrations is recommending the lowest, most responsive, and responsible bidder; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest date possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with METRO TELECOM, 5896 Chandler Court, Westerville, Ohio 43081, for 13 laptop computers to be used in police cruisers, in accordance with bid and City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SEVENTY THREE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FIVE DOLLARS ($73,905) has been set aside to Account No. 101.211.5512 Police Capital Project/Equipment, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and upon the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
