TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH FRANKLIN SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT FOR EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL AND INSPECTION FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FOR 2008; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District has been performing the inspections on sediment and erosion control for development projects; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we continue with them for this service; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the legislation as the contract is set to become effective with the date of the last signature and the current contract expired December 31, 2007, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District for Erosion and Sedimentation Control and Inspections of development projects for 2008, said services spelled out in Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is considered emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
