WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the redevelopment of Olde Gahanna, extensive negotiations were held with Robert J. Eckart and Jerry L. Eckart, owners of Best Courier, and a mutual agreement for a land purchase was reached; and

 

WHEREAS, a General Warranty Deed has been signed to the City of Gahanna, by Robert J. Eckart and Jerry L. Eckart; and

 

WHEREAS, this General Warranty Deed was recorded by the Franklin County Recorder on April 14, 2000 and it is desirable to accept this important parcel at the earliest possible date for the effective development of the site; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That this Council hereby accepts General Warranty Deed from Robert J. Eckart and Jerry L. Eckart, for property known as 121 Mill Street, Gahanna, said deed attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
