TO AMEND SECTION 1303.01, ADOPTION OF CABO ONE AND TWO FAMILY DWELLING CODE, OF CHAPTER 1303, RESIDENTIAL BUILDING CODE, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, the City of the Gahanna has not adopted an updated code version since 1992 and said version is now out of print; and
WHEREAS, most of the suburban communities are now adopting the recently published 1999 Ohio Residential Code; and
WHEREAS, the BIA is supporting adoption of the 1999 Ohio Residential Code in the interest of code consistency; and
WHEREAS, it is prudent for the City of Gahanna to adopt an updated version of a One, Two and Three Family Dwelling code from time to time, all for the protection of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Section 1303.01, Adoption of CABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code, of Chapter 1303, Residential Building Code, is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.
Section 2. That existing Section 1303.01, Adoption of CABO One and Two Family Dwelling Code, of Chapter 1303, Residential Building Code, is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
