TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH AMPO, INC., FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A NATURAL GAS AGGREGATION PROGRAM TO ASSIST THE RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES IN THE CITY OF GAHANNA; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, City Council passed ORD-0141-2003 on July 21, 2003, authorizing actions necessary to effect a governmental natural gas aggregation program with opt-out provisions; and
WHEREAS, AMPO Inc., has submitted proposal for Scope of Services to develop the Natural Gas Aggregation Program for Gahanna, and City Council has recommended that we accept it; and
WHEREAS, Natural Gas Aggregation is a ballot issue and information educating the citizens of Gahanna is needed immediately, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with AMPO, Inc., 2600 Airport Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43219, for development of a Natural Gas Aggregation Program.
Section 2. The the amount of THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) was set aside in the 2003 Appropriations to Account No. 101.141.5441, Contract Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That for reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
