TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH COURTVIEW JUSTICE SOLUTIONS TO CREATE, INSTALL AND MAINTAIN COURTTRAC TICKET IMPORT SOFTWARE TO ALLOW THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE COURT DEPARTMENT TO SHARE CITATION INFORMATION AND  ELIMINATE DUPLICATION OF DATA ENTRY.

WHEREAS, currently the Clerk of Court office and the Police Department utilize different software programs that do not communicate and there is duplication of data entry for every ticket issued by the Police Department; and

 

WHEREAS, the Clerk of Court has been working with the court software vendor, the Police Department and the Technology Department to find a solution to eliminate the duplicative, time-consuming data entry, and has secured a quote from our court software provider, CourtView to create a program for the City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Assistant City Administrator has recommended we proceed with CourtView Justice Solutions for creation and purchase of this software;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with COURTVIEW JUSTICE SOLUTIONS, 5399 Lauby Road, NW, North Canton, OH 44720, for creation, installation and maintenance of CourtTrac Ticket Import Software for software to allow the Police Department and Court to share citation information and eliminate duplication of data entry; quote attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($5,660) is available in Account No. 229.151.5510, Court, Mayor's Court Minor Capital, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
