TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH TRICAR LTD; TO DEVELOP A REGULATORY COMPLIANCE PLAN FOR GAHANNA'S UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS.

WHEREAS, Gahanna has 3 sites where fuel tanks were or are located - Science Blvd, Municipal Golf Course, and Oklahoma Avenue; and
WHEREAS, there have been several reporting changes this year dictated by the Ohio Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations and the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Release Compensation Board; and
WHEREAS, in light of the reporting changes and the ongoing liability associated with fuel tank ownership the Administration solicited proposals to aid the City in meeting these new deadlines and requirements; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received and been recommended by the Director of Public Service;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with TriCar Ltd, 10477 Shields Road, Ostrander, Ohio 43061, to develop a regulatory compliance plan for Gahanna's Underground Storage Tanks, said proposal attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That Three Thousand Three Hundred Dollars was appropriated in the 2002 Appropriations to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
